Ballistic Helmet PGD MICH

The PGD MICH ballistic helmet is a protective helmet with ballistic and anti-fragmentation protection, made from Dupont's Aramid material.

MATERIAL AND CERTIFICATION

The ballistic resistance class of the helmet is IIIA, according to the NIJ 0106.01 standard, providing protection against common handgun ammunition such as 9mm Luger and .44 Magnum.

The MICH ballistic helmet is also resistant to fragments according to the V50 standard of STANAG 2920, which is the NATO standard for ballistic resistance against fragments and shrapnel.

The ballistic helmet can withstand fragments weighing 1.1 g (17 grains) at a velocity of 660 m/s.

BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA

Stopping a projectile is an important feature of many helmets on the market today, but it's not the only thing to consider.
Another critical parameter is the absorption of energy caused by the impact of the projectile, which affects the risk of traumatic brain injury - Blunt force trauma.

The MICH ballistic helmets have a 50% better energy absorption when stopping a projectile according to the HPW-TP-0401.01B IIIA standard, providing better protection against Blunt force trauma.
With a regular ballistic helmet, the impact of a projectile results in a surface disruption with a diameter of 130 mm, causing Back Face Deformation with a depth of 11.2 mm.

With MICH helmets from Protection Group Danmark, the surface disruption has a diameter of only 75 mm, resulting in a Back Face Deformation of only 9 mm.
Injury caused by the absorption of impact energy is therefore much smaller.

MEMORY FOAM AND BOA SYSTEM

In addition to the ballistic properties of the shell, the choice of internal damping liner is also crucial for good absorption of energy generated when stopping a projectile and protection against brain injury.
The interior of the MICH ballistic helmet consists of 10 Memory Foam Pads, made from a special foam technology developed by NASA. This allows not only comfortable wearing of the helmet but also excellent energy absorption and a significant reduction in the risk of brain injury from energy generated when stopping a projectile.

Memory Foam is attached with a dry zipper and can be easily removed or replaced.
The BOA Fit system securely fastens the helmet to the head and allows for easy adjustment through a rotary knob.

Additionally, the retention system is customized to the wearer's head size using four Duraflex plastic buckles, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit.

SURFACE FINISH

The Polyrea spray paint layer applied to the entire MICH helmet ensures that the helmet can withstand rain, oil, and similar liquids.
It also allows the helmet to last for many years without the paint fading or degrading the ballistic properties.
