GORE-TEX is an extremely thin layer of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). Thanks to the GORE-TEX membrane clothing is waterproof, windproof and breathable.
A typical feature of the Soft Shell material is the polyamide upper material, which has very good mechanical resistance, is water-repellent and windproof, breathable, elastic and does not catch snow. It will also protect you from light rain. It's function is to prevent heat loss.
