An ARCH helmet is a high cut helmet with strong ballistic resistance. It is designed to stop the latest and most advanced threats from both fragments and small arms up to a .44 Magnum.
ARCH Ballistic Helmet is made with a high cut that leaves room for communication equipment. Furthermore it is possible to attach accessories on the accessory rail system like night vision different lights or more.
With a weight of only 1.15 kg (without helmet accessories), this is one of the lightest bullet proof helmets on the market.
MATERIALS AND STANDARDS
The ballistic helmet is made in Twaron aramid from Teijin which is one of the leading manufacturers of aramids. This has given the opportunity to develop a NIJ level 3a bullet proof helmet that is approved for NIJ standard 0106.01 against a .44 Magnum and 9 mm (50% BFD reduction).
ARCH helmet is made in Europe.
In addition this helmet is V50 tested according to STANAG2920, which is the NATO standard for ballistic resistance against shrapnel and fragments. The ballistic helmet is tested at 17 grains with a velocity at 720 M/S.
Polyrea spray paint around the entire helmet, ensures that your ballistic helmet can withstand rain, oil and similar liquids. This strengthens your ballistic helmet and allows it to last for many years without the painting or the ballistic properties fading.
THE BALLISTIC HELMET CAN BE ADJUSTET TO YOUR NEEDS
The Liner system inside the helmet consists of 10 Memory Foam Pads, which is PGD's specially developed foam technology that not only makes the helmet comfortable to wear, but also so that the blunt force trauma from bullet impacts is reduced. The Memory Foam pads are attached with velcro and can easily be replaced with other suspension/padding systems.
NIJ standard 0106.01
NIJ standard 0106.01 is the ballistic standard for bullet proof helmets and has nothing to do with NIJ standard 0101.06, which is the standard for bullet proof vests and hard armor plates.
NIJ standard 0106.01 for ballistic helmets has 3 ballistic levels where NIJ level II is the highest bullet proof level for a ballistic helmet. These are tested against a .357 Magnum JSP and 9 mm FMJ. PGD has chosen to develop an even stronger bullet proof helmet that can stop some of the most advanced threats, including a .44 Magnum and .357 Sig, which is equivalent to NIJ level IIIA for soft armor according to NIJ standard 0101.06.
